Nupura center is a non-profit cultural association focused on bridging gaps through connecting the cultures of Catalonia, Spain, and South Asia, a diverse region including India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Nepal. Intending to serve as a hub that uplifts the communities knowledge of and participation in each other's cultures, we offer a variety of programs ranging from theater, poetry ex changes, yoga, voice lessons, and Indian and Latin dances such as Kathak, Bachata, and willow . These programs are geared towards everyone, with events for children, beginners, and the more experienced. For more particular aspects of Indian culture, Nupura also organizes conferences on social and cultural aspects of India in conjunction with Spanish and Catalan entities such as the Local Government of Catalunya, Town Hall of Barcelona, and Casa Asia.
Nupura was founded by Shreya Nag alongside her friend Lourdes Garcinuño and with the support of her husband Nicolás de Pedro.
